Working....

I'm not really sure that I wanted to get started again but I seem to have found my 'groove' for now. I've been cutting out and sewing up Fall patterns. Some I already had and some I've recently bought. Have you ever heard of Chestnut Junction/Kellie Sharp? She's great and has her patterns, e-patterns, for $1.99. You can find her on Etsy if you click on the link above. I just picked up another 6 yesterday. I'm also working on some patterns from Pam Gracia of Soft In the Head.
I ventured outside away from my pool to cut some wood patterns out.
I was sweating like a pig by the time I finished and it was only 11:30 a.m. I think we reached 98 by the end of the day! It's been one of those long, hot summers for us and I'm afraid it's not even close to ending. This box of goodies is awaiting paint coverage! Lots of cute Fall designs from Renee Mullins of Plum Purdy.
These girls were 'sunning' and drying out from their bath in vanilla and cinnamon. They'll be
cute-sied up in a few more days. The pumpkins are for a different pattern.
I finished this last week but just got them photo'd.
Cute and inexpensive for a favorite Teacher. You can find it in my Etsy shop HERE.
For those of you on FaceBook, you may have already seen my pictures from the weekend. These guys turned the big "10" last Friday.
They didn't want a party because parties are for 'babies' so we took them to the beach (Jax and St. Augustine).
The weather wasn't the best but we did get some sunshine in the mornings.
Daddy taught then how to 'boogie' board and they had a blast. It was a memorable B-day and said to have been the 'Best'. Well, they say that every year but I have to agree with them this time!
School starts up on the 17th here. You'll probably hear my "YIPPEE" from where you are. I'm ready to get back into routine although not too excited about the early morning start.
It's already 4:30 p.m. and I've got 2 orders to finish so I can mail them out tomorrow so I better get moving.
Hope Summer has been good to you!

SPRING and WIPs

It's Spring here! Trees, plants, and bushes are blooming!

Pollen is everywhere! So we're sniffling and sneezing just as if it was still cold. Can't win for losing!
I've been busy with some new patterns!
This one comes from Olde Annie Primitives.
Eater Egg Pocketfuls! They are SEW easy to make! I need to get me some Spring Pip Berries to put in them along with my Sweet Annie! I purchase my Sweet Annie from THE FLOWER PATCH on Etsy.
I've made up a 1/2 dozen of these!
This is just a pattern I'd drawn up. Any one with drawing skills can do the same. I like to coat mine with some water-based varnish after I paint them with my Burnt Umber acrylic paint. Makes them shiny and look like REAL chocolate. You can find these in my Etsy shop.
This pattern is from Pam Gracia of SOFT IN THE HEAD. She is so talented and I love making her patterns. 'Miss Bunny' is also in my Etsy shop.
I've cut out and sewn Watermelon, Bumble Bees, Bunnies, and now some Pigs! I've also just sold off the last of my Christmas Elves so I'll be pulling out the Christmas greens and reds soon!
I've got 3 orders for my Garlands sitting on my table so I'll need to get to those today. We've had rain, LOTS of rain, these last few days and it's kept me inside. At least I was able to finish my hand stitching which I detest!
Hope your Spring is coming in like a Lamb and not with the March winds we've been getting. I think we're all well on our way to a thaw!
Stay tuned!

Time Flies!

Time does fly as you get older.....Mama was right. Then again, most of the time she was!
I promised you a Giveaway and I've been dragging my feet. We're still running the A/C here but I've been creating a SNOW STORM! Just taking my time with it!
Here are a few of my 'works in progress'!

Snowman Ornies! Our OFG Team is putting together a special Christmas Ornie Giveaway. I'll tell you more about it as the time gets closer at hand.
Christmas Trees that need to be primmed and have their bases added. Maybe some Jingle bells or a Star Garland??
Woodland critters that need ears, tales, legs, and other such necessities!
Candy canes awaiting their Meeces and Christmas greenery!
I just finished these guys a few minutes ago. I need to Prim them. Or do I?
I like the 'white' but also love the smell of my Prim mix. What do you think?
I'm working on the Tutorial for this Snow family. I drew them up along with another guy and I want to share it with you,
SO,
Stay tuned!
My Giveaway is coming soon!

WIP Wednesday

SPRING is in FULL bloom here!

My itchy eyes can attest to that! Time is flying and we're already in the 2nd week of April. Seriously UNREAL!
I haven't been that busy. I've got 4 orders to cut wood out for this week so looks like my Etsy might be picking up a bit. It's been VERY slow for the last month. This is what I've been doing.....
My market basket is FULL of stuffies!
I picked this basket up at the Good Will for a mere few dollars and I LOVE it! It houses my newly sewn pieces. I then set it beside my favorite 'sitting spot' and stuff while listening to the news, etc. This is left over Bunnies, Sunflowers and some Spring time Buzzy Bees! I'm getting ready to sew up their bottoms and replace them all with Raggedy doll bodies.
I picked up this box of Boyd's  Bears and collectibles from a fellow crafter.
I thought they'd be perfect accessories for some of my dolls. Here is Macie Mae with a small bunny!
My sweet Mother-in-law brought me over an old coat to tear up.
I separated the pieces and washed (or WORSHED!) them up. I bought a Pattern from Samantha's Accessories and thought the brown wool (acrylic wool?) would make great meeces!
I've got something 'haunting' me and I'll need to get that done soon so I can sleep at night again. I'll have to show that to you soon so you can understand the whole 'haunting' thing!!
Don't forget my GIVEAWAY in the post below this one. You can also see it in the link on my Right side bar!
Hope Spring has Sprung where you are! Time stands still for no one!
Stay Tuned!

Halloween WIPs

Good morning Blogging Friends!
I'm quite pleased with myself this a.m.! I'm sitting here typing to you with a smile on my face 'cause the last of my Halloween is being completed!
I ACTUALLY finished everything that I had planned and even a bit more for the October Festivities!!

These 2 'beauties' (pattern from MY PRIMITIVE SALTBOX) need their hats, a spider, and a spooky tag!

That's a Halloween wooden Witch doll made with wire and a pretty dress and 2 Pocketfuls waiting for the rest of their embellishments!
I've LOVED making these guys (pattern adapted from OLD ROAD PRIMITIVES)! The one on the left is in my Etsy store but the one on the table is for a Swap...sssssshhhhhhhh....don't say anything as someone might be peeking!
Another Scarecrow, some apples from THE PRIMITIVE NOOK, and the last witch head that will be a full fledged Doll....Broom and cat included!
And last of all to finish are my arms and legs.
No, not my PERSONAL arms and legs but these....
I HATE stuffing these skinny things and I save them until the last minute!
DON'T FORGET about my current GIVEAWAY HERE!
As Always,
STAY TUNED!

Something WICKED This Way Comes!

Oooooooooh, but I'm super excited about FALL being right around the corner! So hoping we don't have an Indian Summer :( With a really mild winter and hot summer we need some cold weather to come and kill these mosquitoes that have taken over our lives! Seriously cannot go outside for any length of time without getting chewed to pieces!
I've got some familiar works on my table that are soon to be finished!
A girl can seriously NEVER have enough shoes! Making one of these pairs into a centerpiece!
The Jacks and Crows have been primmed and ready to put in their 'proper' places!
Oh, but this witch is truly worthy of her Wicked Ways!
Love making Tawny's sunflowers! They'll embellish some of these pieces!
Candy corn waiting for their paint and a Jack man from Bittersweetfolkart!
Super excited about our OFG Team's newest Celebration! We will launch it on Friday.
 Don't forget about my Giveaway!
Stay Tuned!

Yep, Still Here!

Oh, I know, I'm not supposed to be here but hey, life happens. My sweet daddy passed away this past Sunday. He died in his sleep probably from complications of congestive heart failure, diabetes, emphysema, and an aneurism in his stomach. I don't know which got him first but he's been a very sick man for the last 2 months. I was able to spend the Friday evening before with him and I'm SO glad I did. He still had his humor even though he was super weak. I told my mom, as I was walking out the door,  that would be the last time I saw him alive. Sometimes we just feel that, don't we.
Our trip is postponed until next week so we can have a Memorial/BBQ in his name this coming Saturday on the 7th. As much as death brings sadness, it does bring family together and I'm looking forward to seeing some Aunts, Uncles, and cousins that I haven't seen in a year or 2.
SO, I have cleared off my painting table and I've been preparing this house for my absence (and my House sitter, the nephew). Although I haven't been painting, I have been sewing.....
I've been sewing up sunflowers, elves, dolls, candy canes, santas, scarecrows.....
I'm taking them with me to work on since I'm not taking anything else with me that is crafty. I HAVE to have something to do though 'cause I'm just so used to keeping my hands busy.
I've also been working on this very LARGE feller.....

I have to put him altogether but am waiting for a few pieces to come in the mail. And also, I don't want to show him in 'all his glory' 'cause my swap partner might see it. Yes, he will have a carrot nose; it's in the plastic bin behind his head. I think I'll make a few more and offer one in my Etsy. Can you take a guess as to where I might offer the other one??!!!!
I'll have a few posts before I leave. I still want to show you my paintings.
Stay tuned!

WIP Wednesday!

Greetings Cyber Friends!
I could get used to this 'on vacation' thing!! I've been having a blast making things for me and designing some new patterns. I've been working on an order for a customer. She ordered everything from Easter to Thanksgiving....YAY for me, right?! It gets packed up and shipped out tomorrow. Another YAY for me since it's my last before vacay!!!
Here's a few pictures!
Everything needs to be 'finished' today. Ribbon embellishments and glue should do the trick!
This one is for my Swap partner over at Ravenwood  Whimzies Christmas in July Swap! I'm getting mine done early since I'm leaving soon for vacay. Can you guess what it is or even the pattern I'm using?
This one is mine! Have been waiting for awhile to get to this! LOVE the turquoise/aqua colors that are in right now!
And last, but certainly NOT least...
This is my Carolee! Inspired by none other than our own Firecracker Kid! In fact, Tim and Carol made me a couple of Whale Tail shelves that Carolee is leaning on. They're up now and when I get this large room cleaned I'll take a few pictures for you!! Now where did I put that number for those blasted cleaning fairies???
I have a few oil paintings I hope to share with you in the next day or two. This is the time of year where I work on them and complete what I start.....oh boy, let's not go there!!!! My project 'starts' are bordering on ridiculous!!
We're supposed to be heading out this next Monday. Hubby is flying in on Saturday with our eldest daughter. She has some furniture moving that she needs to do. Our little boy needs his bedroom and I'll be moving all of my Inventory SOMEWHERE!
Lots to do but isn't that what the Summer months are for (nodding head while shaking head!)?!
Oh, by the way, Debby lost her 'umph' by the time she got to us. I think we wound up with 6-7 inches of rain. Hate to say we still need more but, hey, we still need MORE!!!
Stay Tuned!!

Predictions, a Win, and WIPs!

Good Monday morning greetings, dear blogging friends!
We're supposed to get some rain today in what has become the 'desert lands' of Florida! Crossing my fingers that it will 'play out' as our Weather Forecasters have predicted.
I received my WIN from Ann of 1803 Ohio Farm Baskets!
OMGosh, what a WONDERFUL little Tote Basket it is!! Her work is phenomenal and I do believe I'll have to go back and purchase a few for Christmas gifts and one in particular for myself! If you have a minute, go and visit Ann's Etsy shop! Fabulous finds!!
I'm still not doing a whole lot...at least not for my Etsy shop. Finishing up the last of Teacher Appreciation and cutting out some 'extras' for the 'World Fair' that's coming up in a few weeks. Each class picks a country to learn about and I have a few teachers who like wood cut-outs for their kids to paint.
I finished a few more pink cupcakes since the others were gone.
AND, last but not least, I've been trying to finish up a small oil painting.
I still have to add flowers to the foreground and some shading on the girl's face. I can then call it finished. I chose a frame for it.

What do you think? It would look good framed in gold, too, but this one was more 'aged' and I seem to like it better. Do you?
I'm also working on some Americana and Summer items for the OFG Team's upcoming Celebration. I'll tell you more about it in a few.
Until then........
Stay tuned!!
