A Thanksgiving "Giveaway"! (CLOSED)

It's that time again...and I can't believe it's still Wednesday; late, but still Wednesday!
I've been working on lots of Turkeys, Pilgrims, and Inspirational signs. Here, let me show you...
You've already seen these,
and these, (these hang by a sawtooth hanger in the back)

and even this.

Do you remember this guy? The Turkey with a cause? Still trying to save his own feathers!

This one's name is Tucker,

and this is Thomas, (he's dressed a bit more than the others!)

and this one is Taylor! He's decoupaged with some scrapbook paper and mod podge! He actually hangs on the wall instead of being a shelf sitter as he seems to be here.

I've included Penny Pilgrim but her mate, Peter, is still sitting on my table unfinished.

Two more signs...something we should always think about being...

and a new one...measures 16"l x 7"w.

Well, if you've been here before, then you know how we do this!

All you have to do is leave a comment but if you'd like more than one chance, then do the following ALL in the same comment. (Numbering them will help like this)
1. Comment and tell me which item you'd like to have.
2. Tell me you're a follower of my blog or become one.
3. Blog about this Giveaway on FB or your Blog
4. Tell me whatchadoin for Thanksgiving??
That's it!
I'll leave this up and running until next Friday, November 12. I'll let you know that evening who won!!
Thanks for participating!!

I Know...I Know....

I did...I promised you a Giveaway this weekend but it has to wait until Wednesday of next week. My sander came in day before yesterday and I've not been able to sand my cut items due to Halloween festivities...no, not for me...for the twins. How sad they would be if we were to miss out on the party tonight!
Here's a peek at one of the items I'll have next week. Make sure you stop by, okay?!

Is This Even Right?

Well, the stores do it!! I'm into all things "Thanksgiving", getting ready for a Giveaway this weekend. These will be in my Etsy shop, however, I have another pair I'm giving away that I think you'll like.
Stay tuned!

Another One Bites The Dust!

Literally! My large belt sander has died. This year has been the worst for my tools. I've had the originals for many, many years and it was time for the others, yes, I understand, but this one....this one was only a few months old replacing the first, long time friend. Thank goodness for warranties but now comes the hassle of returning. Not fun.
Meanwhile, this is on my table.

I would love to sit down and finish it all,
however,
THIS is taking presidence.
(These are centerpieces for a social I'm chairing this weekend)
I'm tired of pumpkins and the color orange...and I love the color orange but I'm ready to replace it with red...and even green! Yeh, I like the sound of that!
I'll be having another Giveaway next weekend to celebrate "Thanksgiving"; one of my favorite holidays that is ALWAYS over shadowed by Halloween and Christmas.
Hope you'll stop by to chat with me!

Simply...A GIVEAWAY! (CLOSED)

Happy October, everyone! It sure is feeling like it in our neck o' the woods so I'm sure many of you further north are experiencing far cooler temps than we are boasting!
This is the second of my 'Holiday Giveaways'. I will have one every two weeks until after the first week of December. Then all settles down until after the New Year. I sure hope you'll stick around to see the Christmas I have planned!
This one is simple as stated in my title. I actually have one more piece that I will put up this evening so make sure you come back and see. You just might like it! I know I do but then I'm just a tad bit biased!!

Some Welcome signs that can be used throughout the fall season.
They measure approx. 12"x12"
(Same one, just in a hanging position. Different bow on both.)
An idea from a friend that included some of Holly Hanley's designs. I REALLY like this one!
Measures approx. 18"x15".
A set of 3 different 'Give Thanks' blocks. Cut from 2x4 studs and wired together. Most of my other blocks come apart but I wanted to do something different with these...and I like them! Do you?
(Two of them also have some leaf buttons glued to the bow fronts.)
One of the new designs incorporating my owls. If you like this, then you're going to LOVE my larger owl plaque! (I'll put it up this evening!)
My Owl Plaque...usually, we're the ones getting spooked in the woods but this guy's a bit timid himself!
(Landscape format)
(And portrait format)

You should know how to play this game by now!
Just leave me a comment and let me know what you like! That's it, UNLESS...
You want a second chance! Then become a follower or tell me if you already are one.
A third chance for you would be to blog about this Giveaway or link to it on your Facebook. Tell me what you've done in one comment. Hey, I passed 5th grade and can count!!
I'll run this one until midnight  Monday, October 11, 2010. Come back and see me Tuesday morning on the 12th and I'll have 2 winners listed.

Are you ready? On your mark, get set, GO!!!!

And thanks for participating!

*Edit added: For those of you inquiring, the doorway (link) to my Etsy shop is at the top of my blog where it says "Paintspots and Splinters". If you are local and wish to purchase from me, email me to avoid the shipping charges!*

It Will Happen!

I promised you a Giveaway this week and it will happen...just a few more days, please! This sickness still continues on, now afflicting our mentally handicapped daughter. She doesn't recover easily from anything and that equals to alot of sleepless nights for both of us.
ANYwhoo....
Here's a peek at what I'm offering this week.

Keep your fingers crossed that it'll all be put together by Wednesday. Mine are!!

On My Table...

...is a continuance of fall. I'm well on my way to prepping turkeys, (though none are evident here!), but had to make way for just 2 more Halloweenie things. Just 2. A friend of mine gave me an idea for another 'Witches' welcome  for the front door. See that nice cut out that I did with a small blade and my new scroll saw? Like taking a hot knife to buttah, baby! It will be ready in a few days. Also, I didn't have any owls. None. How'd that happen? I actually didn't have any in my design booklet either, so I'm fixing that. And just one more Pumpkin Fall Welcome...actually 2, so I can give away one!
I should be ready for my Giveaway by Monday. We've had a ridiculous time with this cold germ. I was up again last night quieting one of the twin's bark. Sheesh! Can it leave already?!
Hope you're staying well. Come back and see me soon!

The Last of Halloween

The Holiday itself isn't even here, however, I'm done.
I've been sick this week but did manage to crank out a few more block sets.

Last year I lost a very important tool.  I've been using a couple of different substitutes as back up but they are nothing like what I had before. It was my birthday yesterday and my wonderful husband brought me in a new toy to replace my old one. I am STOKED!! If it weren't for the threat of impending rain, I'd be out there right now in my 'sawdust heaven'!
I'll be having another Giveaway towards the end of next week. Make sure you come back and see me!

Getting Down to Business....

...despite being a bit 'under the weather'. My kindergartners (twins) came home this past week with a cold and it has slowly spread to all of us. Because I really need to get sick right now. (Warning: Heavy sarcasm being used here!)
I have been getting down to business, though, and have managed to load a few new things onto my Etsy.
Thought I'd give you a peek at some of my newest creations.

All cut from 2x4 pine studs...

...decoupaged with mod podge and scrapbook papers...

...embellished with ribbons, fabrics, small wood ghosts, spiders and other accessories.
(These pictures just don't do them justice!)
I love all of these and am having a blast with my new tool. I actually like decoupaging with the paper more than just applying the vinyl.
I'll have a Giveaway in another week or so and I think some of these same kind of blocks will be included.  Would be nice to have your opinion on them so let me know what you're thinking.
Now, let me go and blow my nose!!

A Halloween GIVEAWAY! (CLOSED)

I promised you a Giveaway after the Labor Day weekend. It isn't as GRAND as I'd hoped for, but I decided to save the blocks and lettering for another one in a few weeks because this is the last of my Halloween. I've got a good jump 'ahead' on October and need to replenish a very depleted supply of Turkeys, Snowmen, and Santas.
So, here goes!

A little something to hang on your door and usher in the wonderful season of FALL! (for those of you who actually get to experience it!)

AND....
...my favorite witch of all times!

Oh, you know she's so purty!
Ever wake up in the morning and think, "I look like that!"

The rules to this Giveaway are simple...
1. Leave me a comment and tell me which one you'd like to have.
2. A second chance? Become a follower or tell me you already are one!
3. A third? SURE! Blog about this Giveaway or put it on your Facebook wall and let me know you did!
4. LIKE Paintspots and Splinters on Facebook (my badge is on my right hand sidebar)!
No need for separate comments. I can count!!

I'll keep this one open until next Monday: that's September 13th! Good gracious, that just makes the month move that much faster!!

Thanks so much for participating!

An Overflowing Pumpkin Patch

It's that time of year! Pumpkins are growing at the farms in anticipation of the upcoming holidays. These appeared on my table the other day...by my hands, of course!
I've also got something new that I'm playing with.

Lots of different effects with papers and vinyl...
I'm loving it!!
Here's another sneak peek at what I'm giving away next week. There will also be some of those pumpkins, too!
Hope to see you after the Holiday!

Alot To Think About

I've been making my lists, checking them twice; naughty or nice has nothing to do with it! I've got every painting craft layed out on the table that I've "ALMOST" finished and am whittling away at them, one by one. And it's working! Things are getting accomplished! That's a 'good' thing, right Martha?!!

With the twins in Kindergarten now, I've found I can accomplish a bit more. Amazing what a person can do when it's quiet and they can think!
I'm getting ready for another Giveaway. It will have to wait another week but it will be worth it!
In the meantime, let me give you a sneak peek at one of my favorites that will be in it!
I'm not sure where that jingle bell came from, however, if you like witches,
this one will make you squeal with delight...seriously!
Stay tuned....

Double, Double, Toil and Trouble and a GIVEAWAY! (CLOSED)

Do you remember the 3 witches from Shakespeare's Macbeth? Well, I thought about them the whole time I was crafting these little 'beauties'! And I use the word 'beauties' with tongue in cheek!!
These gals are each OOAK, or in the crafting world, one of a kind. Similar but different as I made up the facial patterns as I went along and, or course, dressed them in different prints. You know girls don't like to share their clothing and witches get just a bit more testy than the normal gal!
"Fire burn and cauldron bubble"!
Sporting  homemade felt hats, brooms, and their little pets.
If you'd like to have one just leave me a comment. (One per Google account, please).
Want to double your chances of winning? Then become a follower. (If you're already a follower than that counts, too!)
Want to triple your chances? Send someone my way and tell me who you told (whether they show up or not!)
4th entry...why not!! Blog about this Giveaway!
No need for separate comments. Tell me everything you've done in one comment and I'll count you for the things you've done. I'm going to run this until Friday. Please specify which 'Witch' you'd like to have.
Oh...and if you don't want a witch I have something else you might like.
Yes, I'm very much into FALL right now!
Just let me know if you want the Pumpkin Garland or the witch in your comment. I'll choose someone randomly and let you know Saturday morning who the Giveaway winner is.
Thanks so much for stopping by and remember to come back Saturday morning!
