I Need An Opinion....

Help me out here....I need to add some foliage in the foreground that will reflect the colors in the sky but what else is this painting lacking besides brightness in the foreground? It looks very dark but that's because of my terrible photography! I'm thinking of a large Evergreen on the right side, (if you're looking at the painting), but am wondering will it 'unbalance' the landscape? I don't want it symmetrical but I don't want it to look 'off' either. I've thought of adding some deer on the left but everyone else is saying no...the pond is the focal. What do you think?

Just one more...

I couldn't resist one more snowman! This little guy, (actually about 15 " tall), is a 'shelf sitter'. He's a little perplexed as someone has placed his mittens in his little stick hands instead of on them. What's the little guy to do?!!

Once there was a snowman...

...tall, tall, tall...well, not quite tall! This one was so much fun to paint! I eliminated much of the details by using a 'rustic' approach. A good basecoat in a burnt umber made it look like it was stained! His scarf fringe is some 'homespun' glued on. We may not get any snow but at least I have the snowman!

Let's Talk Turkey!!

Ain't he purty!!!! Yeah, well, the little 'beauty' took me almost a week to paint! He was worth it! Sure looked pretty on my Thanksgiving table! Maybe next year I can get to the Pilgrims!

My Santa!

After much anticipation, he is finally finished! It took me a few days more than I had expected but that was because the twins were adding to the 'work' experience. The original pattern had him holding an old tin lantern. It was cute but I'm a 'why not more' kind of person and, to me, he looks more like a Santa this way. He will be a wonderful holiday edition to our Christmas decor this year!
